What documents will you ask me for when applying for a mortgage?
It will depend on your individual circumstances, however, the following documents will be handy to start with:
-
ID (passport, driving license)

Having these all up to date with your current address will be a big help.

It is not mandatory to take out protection for your mortgage, however, this is probably the biggest financial commitment of your life and something you will certainly need to consider. I will go through all the options with you at the time of your application.
But the estate agent says I have to use their mortgage advisor else I can't offer on the house?
This is not true. If an estate agent is telling you this they are wrong. You can decide who you get your mortgage through, it is your choice completely.
Typically, we charge a fee of £495 for arranging your mortgage, the exact amount will depend on your circumstances. Where a fee is charged, we will only charge this once during the term of the mortgage. We reserve the right to charge an administrative fee of £49 for any changes which are made to the mortgage once a mortgage offer has been issued.
